Moderator/Ambassador

A Moderator/Facility Ambassador is the face of Television City and will promote and recruit travel guests to attend TV screenings and host sessions at the Television City facility at MGM Grand and in our online platform!

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to recruit Las Vegas tourists to attend screenings and focus groups at Television City. Will also include over the telephone recruitment from a selected pool of respondents for online sessions.
  • Host screening and study sessions. Communicate with guests and guide them through the research process.
  • Support the Welcome Desk as needed for check-ins and answer guests’ questions. Guide guests through the research process and schedules.
  • Handle guest incentives.
  • Communicate with the operations supervisory team on progress of recruiting efforts and closely work with team to stay on track.
  • Must keep all study materials, media and data information confidential.
  • Must follow all security policies put in place by ViacomCBS, Television City and MGM Grand.
  • Serve as ViacomCBS, Television City facility and MGM Grand hotel ambassador.
  • Responsible for providing a safe environment for all guests and co-workers.
  • Provide directions and assistance to hotel guests passing through the facility when needed.
  • Notify hotel EVS and general services to pick up trash or spills to keep Television City facility and hall areas clean and safe.
  • Responsible for QA checks to ensure valid data when completing online studies.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Superb verbal and written communication, negotiation, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time on concrete floor.
  • Establish a positive, professional relationship with all staff.
  • Must be able to keep a calm, pleasant and welcoming demeanor with guests throughout their Television City experience.
  • Comfortable using computer, tablets and mobile apps such as Zoom.

Additional Qualifications

  • Bilingual – Spanish speaker preferred.
  • Ability to exert moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 20 pounds).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word and Excel.

Systems Technician

Television City at MGM Grand is looking for a Systems Technician to support our research testing facility and online operations in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Systems Technician should be a highly motivated self-starter who can effectively operate equipment and troubleshoot routine and complex system malfunctions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, operate, maintain and troubleshoot systems and equipment such as:
    • Video server operation and displays
    • Non-liner video editing (Adobe Premiere and CC products)
    • Audio / video software and hardware encoders, and digital recording
    • Wired and wireless microphones and earpieces
    • Audio amplifiers and speakers
    • Online live streaming (Kaltura, Azure Media Services)
  • Creating surveys from questionnaires, supporting and maintaining studies in field through survey platforms and internal systems
  • Desktop workstation support and maintenance (Win10, MacOSX and Linux)
  • Using and configuring various mobile devices in highly specific ways for research testing (IOS, Android, FireOS and others)
  • Audio and video matrix routers and cabling
  • Teleconferencing equipment and software (supporting end users, scheduling rooms and sessions, equipment set-up and testing prior to meetings)
  • Networking equipment (switches, routers, access points, I/O patch panels and cabling)
  • Crestron automation systems (CP3, CP2 controllers and touch panels)
  • Pulling, terminating cable and soldering connecters
  • Possess an ability to understand and troubleshoot complex network environments for troubleshooting, installing and repairing systems. You will be required to work closely with the IT and Security departments on many systems and projects.
  • Have the ability to lift in excess of 100 lbs. and be comfortable working at heights on a ladder and in extremely confined spaces.
  • Ability to read and update complex wiring schematics and assist with design and modification of systems as we grow.
  • Maintain the quality and content of public and internal video displays.
  • Maintain the facility, perform repairs and address safety concerns.
  • Furniture/fixture repairs (e.g., chairs and desks, laminated surfaces, minor carpet repair)
  • Painting, replacing outlets and light switches. fixing drywall and flooring. Replacing lights, climbing into tight spaces in ceiling or walls to replace HVAC filters and/or inspect/clean equipment.
  • Work with hotel maintenance staff for other repairs as needed.
  • Order and maintain inventory of parts, equipment, materials and supplies necessary.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in:
    • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word)
    • Windows, Mac OSX & Linux Desktop operating systems
    • Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere, Media Encoder, Encore, Photoshop, Illustrator and others)
    • Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code

Basic Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in the technical maintenance field
  • Knowledge of Crestron Systems and equipment is desired
  • Ability to multitask and complete projects independently with little instruction or supervision
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor at all times
  • We want candidates who communicate very detailed and specific information to quickly bring the next shift up to speed on projects and day-to-day operations
  • Must be able to assist clients and internal staff with any technical issues they may have while in the facility

Preferred Qualifications

  • A good understanding of computer programming in relation to web development and custom API cross platform communications is desired.

Being familiar with JavaScript, C#, HTML, JSON with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code is a plus.
